Sony has issued the Second State of Play of its history, a short streaming format in which it presents some of the news in the short and medium term for the 96.8 owners of a PlayStation 4.
If you have not been able to see it, or you want to get to the point and know the news presented, then we are going to do a review of everything you gave of yourself.
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne
The retransmission has begun with snow, as we have seen a gameplay of Iceborne, a massive expansion for Monster Hunter World that already has a launch date: the September 6. In addition to this frozen environment, which contrasts with the jungle scenarios of the base game, some of the creatures that will have to be hunted have been presented, highlighting among them the mythical Velkhana.
Cococucumber, the studio responsible for Planet of the Eyes, has announced that Riverbond will also come to PlayStation 4 this summer. It is a dungeon crawler in which you fight monsters, find treasures and become the hero. This game follows the voxel art visual style, will have a local cooperative and has presented a package of skins that will allow us to control indie hit characters like Enter the Gungeon, Guacamelee! Bastion, Shovel Knight and Psychonauts.
Predator: Hunting Grounds
IllFonic, the study that brought us Friday the 13th: The Videogame, returns to the fray with the adaptation of another iconic film franchise of horror movies. Together with FOX, he has presented Predator: Hunting Grounds, an asymmetric multiplayer shooter that will remind us of concepts like Evolve, since a player will get into the skin of the beast, the Predator in this case, and a group of players will be members of an elite Fireteam team that will try to hunt down the stealthy beast and lethal armed with shotguns, submachine guns, sniper rifles and more. The game will arrive in 2020.
We knew that the remake of MediEvil in charge of Other Ocean was going to be one of the main protagonists of the State of Play, because it was the only game that had confirmed its presence. We have seen a new gameplay starring the charismatic Sir Daniel Fortesque and we already know when we will be able to recall our PSX times on our PS4 when announcing the Release date: next October 25.
New special model of PS4 'Days of Play'
Sony surely wants to exceed the figure of 100 million PlayStation 4 sold, and that is why it has presented a new 'Slim' model of 1TB in a range of metallic color. It is launched to commemorate a new event 'Days of Play', dates on which there are hardware sales and key games in the Sony catalog at especially interesting prices.
Away: The Survival Series
As with Riverbond, Sony has also announced that AWAY: The Survival Series, from the Breaking Walls studio, will hit PS4. Set in the distant future, AWAY puts you in the skin of a sugar petauro (a kind of squirrel). As natural disasters threaten the survival of all species on the planet, you must venture into the thicket in search of a safe place. Your journey will take you through overwhelming environments full of dangerous creatures as you unravel the mysterious origin of the world.
Final Fantasy VII: Remake
The icing on the cake has come to close the broadcast of this second State of Play. Another remake, in this case the one of Final Fantasy 7, has shown a new gameplay after years of waiting and we have been able to see how some of the most beloved characters look like Cloud, Aeris and Barret … and that of some of the hated ones, like the vile Sephiroth. On this occasion we have not been given the expected launch date, but we have been called to the month of June to learn more news, surely referring to the E3 2019, where Square-Enix will have a conference.
What did you think of this second State of Play? Undoubtedly, it improves what is seen in the first one, above all due to the presence of the nostalgia factor and the two expected remakes, but are the novelties enough to justify the format? Tell us what you think in the comments.
And do not miss …
